While we're still unsure whether this would be legal in the United States or Canada, Need For Speed took to the streets of Germany in some sweet Go-Karts during Gamescom week. With a top speed of 60mph, NFSCoulter, NFSDrew, the NFSGirls, and some of our great community zig-zagged through Cologne.
With pedestrians looking on in disbelief, we beeped our horns, waved to other cars, and pushed the go-karts to their limit. Drew had on the helmet-cam, while Coulter had the on-board camera, both adding extra weight to their karts which they were not happy about.
After tearing through the streets (with Coulter trying to race a Mercedes), they stopped in a Burger King drive-thru (with Coulter trying to start races in the parking lot) and got some food to fuel them through the next event.
A slalom course had been set up with all kinds of challenges and objectives. The NFSGirls and Drew were dominant, as were some select community members! Drew showed his skills in an array of events, to the point where even Schumacher would be proud.
To top off the day, DJ Miki Taka hopped out of the go-kart and took to the wheels of steel (get it?) to play some jams during the Need For Speed party.
What a day! Enjoy the video and next year let's hope they throw some NOS into the karts!
